Western Basin Walleye fishing has been best around the islands, with the cleaner water north of Kelleys Island and east of Kelleys Island producing the best results. Fish have been caught by trolling mostly with crankbaits, but also with worm harnesses or spoons fished behind inline weights or divers. Fish can also be caught by casting mayfly rigs or drifting with bottom bouncers and worm harnesses. Yellow perch fishing is starting to pick up in traditional early spring spots in water depths ranging from 25'-35' using minnows on perch spreaders fished near the bottom. |
