[ Lake Erie & Tributaries Fishing Report ]

With light winds the ice on the lake ice might have a chance to set back up. I saw 4 walkers and two guys with a quad trying to work there way out from Catawba State Park. I might try in a few days, but all my charters are on hold. Reports of several people going though in Saginaw Bay at Linwood MI over the weekend. Just think they're further north than we are. Anglers must use common sense before going out. I'm not a pioneer as far as finding out if the ice is safe, spring is just around the corner and the boats can go in. Although I love ice fishing, it would be nice to get out a few more days. Areas around the Crane Creek area has ice in but there is a major opening about 1 mile out running west to east. Major push ice off of Catawba State Park, although a few airboats have still been running. Off of Mouse Island there is very poor ice with major openings in the south passage, last week the whole passage was open.
Anglers are still fishing the old bay bridge and east harbor just off the state park. Just remember ice and lake currents donot mix, be safe.
Good Ice
