Western Basin

Walleye: There were very few walleye fishing reports from the western basin over the past week. Boat anglers should try trolling around Kelleys Island and shore anglers fishing on the Lakeside pier. In November most walleye are caught by trolling or casting minnow-imitating crankbaits.

Yellow perch reports have been scarce. Perch up to 13” have been caught E of Kelleys Island, off of Marblehead, and off of Cedar Point. Other areas to try include the Toledo water intake, around Niagara Reef, W of Green Island and Rattlesnake Island, and around the Catawba green can. Perch spreaders or crappie rigs with shiners fished near the bottom produce the most fish.
