[ Lake Erie & Tributaries Fishing Report ]

Over the last week, high winds continue to create problems for fishermen in the western basin. The forecast for the upcoming week is still more winds and cold rain. The good news is that the water clarity is still good off the south shore.
This will be my last report until ice fishing starts in the western basin.

A few reports of walleye being caught around the island area and Gull/Kelley reefs, if you can get out to those areas. The night fishing is starting to heat up at Huron River and the shoreline. This will continue until the Lake Erie has ice out.

Perch fishing is still very good from Crane Creek to the island area. The best news is the perch fishing around Port Clinton. Since most of the winds have been from the south, perch fisherman are taking very good size perch just 1-2 miles off the shore in 18' of water. Some of the bait shops are still open with good quanities of shinners and the headboats are still in the water.

As soon as we start our ice fishing charters I will being reporting walleye fishing and ice conditions in the western basin. For further information on our ice charters go to www.lakeeeriefishing911.com or email me at mrbass@lakeeriefishig911.com.

Have a great holiday and good fishin
Capt. Bob Hughey
